Paige Spiranac refuses to change her ‘risque’ golf outfits – despite criticism

Paige Spiranac, the glamorous golfer, has confessed she’s got no plans to switch up her daring wardrobe choices for the green despite getting flack from traditionalist players.

Known for her head-turning outfits like low-cut tops and mini-shorts, Paige stands boldly in contrast to the allegedly stuffy golf scene.

She shrugged off the old-school criticism in a chat with the Daily Mail: “I grew up playing on public golf courses where guys were wearing cut-off jean shorts and tank tops,” Paige explained. “So when I started posting in tank tops and leggings, it blew people’s minds in golf. It was just the most risqué thing that anyone could be doing”.

She went on to say, “That was my first experience of this whole other world to golf. I always knew it’s more of a stuffy sport but it is changing over time.”

As golf faces a pivotal moment, with social media personalities climbing to prominence on par with well-known pros, the stats are quite telling: The world’s leading ten male golfers have an 8.6 million strong Instagram following combined, yet Paige alone boasts over 4 million followers.

YouTube’s golf channels are also racking up the views, surpassing LIV or PGA Tour events – for instance, Bryson DeChambeau’s round with ex-President Trump drawing 13 million looks and Good Good enjoying a cool million-plus subscriber count.

Paige reckons golf pros ought to let their individualities shine through, mimicking what digital creators do online.

She pointed out the unique challenge for golfers, saying: “With golfers, you don’t really have that. You have to connect to that person, and so if they’re not showing their personality online, it is harder to connect,” but she also acknowledged the difficulty of exposing oneself to potential criticism from fans.
