Alcaraz, the defending champion, crushed seven-time Wimbledon winner Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (4) in the final on Sunday. The Spaniard required four championship points to get the job done. This was his third victory over the Serbian player in their six-match rivalry. His previous win came in last year’s final, a five-set thriller.Carlos Alcaraz, now a four-time Grand Slam champion, also completed the ‘Channel Slam,’ which means winning the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships in the same calendar year. Just last month the World No. 3 won his first title on the claycourts in Paris by beating Alexander Zverev in a tightly contested five-setter. With that victory, he became the youngest man in history to complete the ‘Surface Slam.’
