Travis Kelce laughs with Jason Kelce over controversial debate comparing NFL to other sports
It’s a debate that always gets sports fans talking: Which athletes could dominate in a completely different sport? Well, Jason and Travis Kelce took that conversation to their podcast, diving into an entertaining discussion about which NHL players could hang with the big boys of the NFL.
The Kelce brothers, who have roots in both hockey and football, couldn’t resist speculating which of today’s hockey legends could strap on some pads and give football a shot. While fans are used to seeing them on the gridiron, their surprising picks from the ice had listeners buzzing.
Jason Kelce didn’t hesitate with his first choice: “Eric Lindros could absolutely play in the NFL.” He didn’t just stop there. “This guy’s a beast. I’ve seen him up close, and trust me, he could’ve easily bulked up and taken a spot on the O-line,” Jason added, recalling an encounter during his golf outing. But when Travis tossed out the idea of Lindros lining up as a tight end, Jason couldn’t help but laugh, imagining him as a massive target on the field.
Lindros wasn’t the only hockey star on the table. The brothers turned their attention to Jaromir Jagr, envisioning his infamous mullet flowing on the football field. It’s a visual no sports fan could ignore. And then there was Claude Giroux, whom Jason had a more personal connection with after spending years together in Philadelphia. But would Giroux stand a chance as a wide receiver? Jason wasn’t so sure: “He’s scrappy, no doubt, but arm wrestling and the NFL are two different things.”
