Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift break silence amid speculation they’re engaged
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have hit back at ‘unfounded speculation’ that they are engaged after rumors started to pile up following a gaffe made by Monday Night Football commentator Troy Aikman.
Aikman accidentally referred to Swift as Kelce’s ‘missus’ on the air, leading to speculation that the couple are now engaged after a year of dating.
But a source close to the couple spoke to TMZ and threw cold water on the claims.
‘It’s not true and the recent erratic and unfounded speculation on this couple is just proving that media and overzealous fans do not know what’s going on with them and shouldn’t make wild assumptions based on zero facts,’ the source told the outlet.
That source added, ‘Two days ago everyone had decided they were broken up, not they’re allegedly secretly engaged? It’s whiplash inducing.’
That follows so-called ‘unfounded speculation’ that grew after Monday Night Football color commentator Troy Aikman accidentally referred to Swift as Kelce’s ‘missus’ on the broadcast
Aikman initially recognized his slip-up on the air, saying, ‘I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that.’
might have broken the story,’ Aikman said – revealing on the podcast that he had intel that Kelce ‘might’ have already popped the question.
But if this source is to be believed, the longtime NFL color commentator was fed bad information.
Swift was back at Arrowhead Stadium for the game against the New Orleans Saints on Monday, where she was spotted cheering on her man.
Swift hailed the Chiefs’ ‘perfect’ win to take their record to 5-0 as she partied in her VIP suite with other WAGs including Chariah Gordon.
