Aryna Sabalenka vs Madison Keys live updates: 2025 Australian Open women’s final result and reaction

Madison Keys is the 2025 Australian Open champion
U.S. star Madison Keys has won her first Grand Slam title, after shocking top seed and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka in the Australian Open women’s final at Rod Laver Arena.
Keys produced a stunning performance to win the opening set 6-3, before Sabalenka raised her game in the second. She cantered to the second set 6-2 and looked capable to rolling over Keys from there.
But the American had other ideas, digging in and finishing the deciding set so strongly that Sabalenka had no answer. Keys’ 7-5 triumph ended the world No. 1’s hopes of securing the first Melbourne threepeat since 1999.
As for Keys, at the age of 29 she is the oldest player to defeat the world No. 1 and No. 2 in a Grand Slam final and semifinal since the WTA rankings were published in 1975 — and with it, her first major title.
