Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is a Pitt no longer.
The teenager of actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has been granted her name change request. According to TMZ, the 18-year-old’s request for a name change has been approved and she will have the Pitt dropped from her full name which is Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt.
The outlet was told that petition was granted without any fuss or a formal hearing. The request for the name change was filed three days after her milestone birthday. She turned 18 this past May.
Peter added how this delay was “normal” since everyone undergoes the background check process conducted by the court clerk. The new date for the rescheduled hearing was August 19.
In July, Shiloh reportedly took out an ad in the Los Angles Time to announce she was getting rid of her father’s last name. According to California law, in order for a judge to decide to grant a name change, the person has to have the forms published in newspaper for a month. The request has to legally show up in a official publication.
In a heavily redacted FBI report, The Tomb Raider star accused the 60-year-old of physical and verbal abuse towards her and their children. The two share 22-year-old Maddox, 20-year-old Pax, 19-year-old Zahara, 18-year-old Shiloh and 15-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Per PEOPLE, according to his and the 49-year-actress’ custody agreement, he has “virtually no contact” with his adult kids but has visitation rights for the younger ones.
Two of Shiloh’s siblings have also distanced themselves from Brad’s last name. Vivienne had Vivienne Jolie in the Playbill for the Broadway musical adaptation of The Outsiders. She works as the producer assistant for the musical which her mother is a producer on.
